02:00 PM - 12:30 PM

The Small Explorers program has continued to grow in popularity, so we are adding a third session starting this month! Sessions are offered on the 3rd weekend of each month - Friday at 2 pm, and Saturday at 10 am and 12 noon. Special thanks to PNC for supporting the expansion of this early learning program!

October’s Small Explorers program theme is Land of Pines/conservation. We’ll read "Tall Tall Tree” by Anthony D. Fredericks, then visit the “Preserving the Pinelands” exhibit. Back in the classroom, families can try painting with pine needles, investigate a tree touch-box, and learn about the animals who live in the pines. This free program is offered at 2 pm on Friday, and 10 am and 12 pm on Saturday. Small Explorers is designed for children 6 months to 5 years old and their caregiver. Space is limited, reservations are required. Visit the Museum's website and complete the registration form, then email to to reserve your spot. Reservation requests must be received by 10:00 am the Friday before the program in order for staff to confirm space availability.
