Start off the holiday season at Historic New Bridge Landing as the Bergen County Historical Society celebrates Sinterklaas Day.
All three 18th-century Jersey Dutch sandstone houses, including the state historic 1752 Steuben House, will be open for tours throughout the day.
Be sure to stop by the Demarest House for a visit and a photo with Sinterklaas.
At 2 pm in the Campbell-Christie House, BCHS volunteer Ariel Woll will be giving a Hanukkah presentation. She will demonstrate how the menorah is lit and will explain more about the history, traditions and customs of the holiday.
Take a peek at the treasures in the gift shop for that unique holiday gift while you enjoy donuts, hot cider and other seasonal treats.
Don't miss the Jersey Dutch out-kitchen where interpreters will be cooking Dutch stroop wafers, Dutch puff pancakes, sugared almonds, candied fruit peels and other Dutch holiday goodies.
Activities for families include pinecone bird feeder and ornament making throughout the afternoon.
Ticket reservations for the 39th annual Colonial Christmas Concerts featuring Linda Russell and Company will also be on sale.
Face masks are not required but are optional for those who wish to wear them.
Free admission. Free parking available on site or take the train to the New Bridge Landing station on the Pascack Valley Line.
Dogs are permitted on site on a leash but not in the houses.
