Sesame Place Philadelphia 45th Birthday Season

Sesame Place Philadelphia will celebrate its 45th birthday season all spring and summer, through September 7.

Ongoing birthday fun includes birthday storytime, character meet-and-greets, the Furry Friends Birthday Dance Party, Dine with Elmo & Friends Birthday Bash, birthday-themed merchandise, new birthday funnel cake and birthday Dippin’ Dots, and more special events to be announced.

Upcoming events include:

May 3 and 4
Baby Shark, Pinkfong and Bebefinn will perform in a musical “Baby Shark Mini-Show” plus meet-and-greets and a VIP character dining experience.

May 10 and 11
Meet Pete the Cat, Red Titan and Combo Panda, made famous by Ryan’s World on YouTube.

Mother’s Day Celebration
The fun-filled celebration includes the Furry Friends “Mommy & Me” Dance Party, a Mother’s Day craft, and a sticker giveaway. You can reserve a spot at the Mother’s Day Dine with Elmo & Friends.

Sesame Place 5K Classic
The 25th annual Kiwanis-Herald Sesame Place Classic will feature a 5K, one-mile fun run, and a kids’ sprint to raise money for the Dick Dougherty Honorarium Awards. The awards benefit Bucks County high school students. All registrants will receive a free one-day admission ticket to Sesame Place.

45th Birthday Beach Bash
The water attractions will open. Join Bert & Ernie’s Seashell Scavenger Hunt and the Furry Friends Beach Bash Dance Party.

Memorial Day Weekend Celebration
Book your resy for a Patriotic Dine with Elmo & Friends. Exclusively on Sunday, May 25, you can add a Sweet Treats package and rock out to the spectacular “C is for Celebrate” fireworks display.

Elmo’s Pirate Weekend
A swashbuckling pirate adventure awaits with the show “Elmo and the Bookaneers,” a treasure hunt, and photos with your kid’s Sesame Street friends in their pirate garb.

To celebrate America’s birthday, Elmo will be available for photos in his patriotic attire. On July 4 only is the “C is for Celebrate” fireworks show.

Celebrate the day Elmo got Tango with a scavenger hunt and meet-and-greets.

Sesame Place is celebrating its 45th birthday all spring and summer, with an extra special birthday bash on the anniversary of its opening in 1980, including fireworks.

Before the summer ends, the park will host a week of back-to-school fun, featuring Honker’s Super Fun Science Show and the Back to School Bash Dine with Elmo & Friends.

Labor Day Celebration
Elmo will be available for photos in his patriotic attire. The “C…is for Celebrate!” Labor Day Fireworks display will close out Sesame Summer Splash on August 31.
