Sesame Place Mardi Gras Celebration

Sesame Place Philadelphia will kick off its 45th season with events, parades, and other celebrations starting February 15.

The park opens its 2025 season with its third annual family-friendly Mardi Gras Celebration.

Kids can soar and spin on their favorite attractions while enjoying Mardi Gras-themed festivities and photo opportunities with everyone’s favorite furry friends dressed in their purple, gold, and green best.

“Elmo the Musical, Live!,” a character stage show featuring math, music, and Detective Elmo, will return for a limited-time engagement at Sesame Studio.

Back by popular demand, Cookie Monster & Chef Gonger’s Pizza Party, an interactive pizza-making experience with everyone’s favorite monster foodies, will also return exclusively during the Mardi Gras Celebration.

Look for strolling entertainment like Mummers Band Shows, stilt walkers, and bead bike brigades.

Menu items inspired by the city of New Orleans – including jambalaya, po’ boys, hush puppies, and beignets – will be part of the Mardi Gras Dine with Elmo & Friends and at select snack carts.

The Mardi Gras Celebration is included with park admission and will run through Sunday, March 9.

Beginning on April 26, the park will celebrate 45 years of furry fun with the new Sesame Street Birthday Parade and its biggest birthday bash yet.
