Rocks in the Garden: A Public History of Slavery in Morris County

February 6 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$10

Historian Mike Snyder will discuss the impact and history of slavery in Morris County.

His presentation, as part of METC’s lecture series, examines local slaveholders and enslaved people from the Revolution to the end of the Civil War, connecting different pieces of evidence to tell untold stories, help change the narrative, and give voice and agency to marginalized people.

Snyder was the 2012 recipient of the David Michael Friedlander Award for academic achievement from the history department at Rutgers University.

The cost is $10 per person, or free for members.
