
The Francophone Festival will transform Hinds Plaza into a lively gathering celebrating the diversity of the French-speaking world with concerts, food, crafts, and literature in a family-friendly event open to the entire community.
One of the highlights will be a public conversation with internationally acclaimed Franco-Congolese author Alain Mabanckou, joined by other writers participating in a literary festival featuring 15 francophone authors from six regions of the world: France, Canada, Congo, Réunion Island, Tunisia, and Belgium.
Another highlight will be two concerts with Eva Martin and her jazz group, and Blandine Guerrand.
Additional festival highlights include:
– Food vendors featuring international French-speaking cuisines
– Francophone non profit organizations
– Craft stands and “ Pêche à la ligne”
– Book signings and literary discussions with visiting authors
– A children’s and teens’ workshop at Princeton Public Library from 12 to 1:30 pm
– A wine tasting experience hosted by a nearby Princeton restaurant
– A movie opening night on Princeton University campus on Friday, April 10
The festival aims to showcase the global reach of the French language while creating a welcoming cultural event for families, students, and the broader Princeton community.
