In 2019, Rutgers marks the centennial anniversary of Paul Robeson's graduation from Rutgers College in 1919 with six portraits of Robeson that were commissioned by the university as images for banners displayed over all the university campuses for the Robeson Centennial Year. The artists’ original artworks – honoring his achievements as a scholar, athlete, actor, singer, and global activist – used on the banners are on display in the Zimmerli’s lobby. The Zimmerli’s presentation of the Paul Robeson portraits is in partnership with the Robeson Centennial Celebration Committee and Rutgers University–New Brunswick. Sat-Sun, Noon-5pm. 1st Tues of most months, 10am-9pm. The museum is closed Mondays, major holidays, and the month of August. FREE Admission.
