February 1 - October 1
As Philadelphia prepares to take center stage for America’s 250th anniversary in 2026, Historic Germantown is unveiling a neighborhood-wide series of experiences designed to welcome visitors, history lovers, and curious travelers from across the country.
Beginning in early 2026, Historic Germantown will activate its network of 20 historic houses, museums, gardens, and cultural institutions with walking tours, festivals, extended evening hours, hands-on programs, and free community events, offering a fresh and immersive way to experience one of the most historically significant neighborhoods in America.
Highlights Include:
  • 26 Weeks of Walking Tours launching in February, inviting visitors to explore Revolutionary War sites, abolitionist landmarks, and stories that shaped the nation
  • Firefly Hours (April–October), with 17 sites extending hours for free evening access to gardens, green spaces, and family-friendly activities
  • A revived Green Space Stamp Rally, turning Germantown into an interactive scavenger hunt for all ages
  • Season of Festivals, including Juneteenth, Revolutionary-era celebrations, poetry and jazz, and more
  • Second Saturdays, offering free admission across participating sites every month
  • The return of the One Pass, providing visitors with a 60 percent discount on guided tours over a two-week period
Founded in 1683, Germantown is home to the first formal protest against slavery in the Americas, pivotal Revolutionary War history, and generations of cultural and intellectual innovation, making it a powerful lens through which to explore the nation’s past, present, and future during the Semiquincentennial.
