The annual Presidents Day Weekend event brings families and local businesses together in Ocean City in the heart of winter.
The event is run out of Civic Center and includes three components: an obstacle course race for children, a Winter Warrior obstacle course race for parents and individuals, and team challenges such as a fire truck pull.
OCNJ Winter Warrior Challenge Course
Show your grit, effort, resilience, courage and resolve on a cold 2.5-mile course with 10 obstacles along the way. Look for things like sand mounds, tire run, floating steps and cargo net climb along the way. This race is reserved for ages 14 and older. All survivors receive an exclusive Winter Warrior Challenge finisher shirt. There are different waves setting off from 9 am to 12 pm.
Kids Challenge Course
A fun, non-competitive course includes a rock wall, hazard walls, cargo net, agility poles, teeter plank, monkey bars, floating steps, tire run, and noodle tower. The course is open to kids 12 and under from 10 am to noon; family relays go from 12-1 pm; and then the course reopens for the kids at 1 pm.
Team Challenge
Teams of four compete in five events to win awards as top overall team, all-male team, all-female team, and co-ed team. Events include a 2.5-mile obstacle course, fire truck pull, sandbag relay, tire flip relay, and fire house and dummy rescue.
Winter Warrior spotlight tables will be set up from 9 am to 2 pm with vendors, hot chocolate, music and fire heaters.
As the events go on outside, inside will host extra warming areas, hot chocolate, a concession stand and awards.
