Description
After seeing the handcrafted work of artisans in the Marketplace area, kids can try their hand at embellishing and coloring an unfinished wood cutout they can take home. There will be balloon animals as well as old fashioned games like bean bag and ring tosses, tic-tac-toe, and a mini fishing pond.
In addition to these activities there are learning opportunities about ways to protect the environment. They will see natural products that do the job and get ideas for repurposing belongings. One exhibitor, Hempwood, manufactures sustainable lumber made of organically grown fiber hemp stocks that are as strong as hardwood and save forests. A laundry expert, The Laundry Evangelist, Patric Richardson, aka The Laundry Guy, uses natural materials for safe and spectacular results and shows how to make cleaning fun. A repurposing authority, Doreen Stovenour, shares tips on how to salvage and transform items tagged for the dump.
Meanwhile parents will see products from more than 100 remodelers, contractors, interior designers, landscapers and kitchen and bath designers - most of them locally owned businesses.
Exhibitors run the remodeling gamut specializing in windows and doors, gutter protection, closets, roofing, fencing, decking, heating and air conditioning, solar energy, power washing, siding, landscaping and excavation, deer control, bath fitters and basement systems.
Hours are 3-8 pm Friday, 10 am - 7 pm Saturday, and 10 am - 5 pm Sunday.
Tickets are $10 for everyone 16 and older; kids 15 and under are free.
