Mountain Creek Resort is challenging skiers and snowboarders to “skim” into spring during its annual Pond Skim event.

Contestants will put their ski, snowboard and swimming skills to the test as they race down the slopes and “skim” across a pond of frigid water. Whether you’re a spectator or a skimmer, watch as contestants make it across the 4-foot-deep pond or end up wet and cold!

The resort encourages skimmers to break out their best luau attire, as contestants will compete for prizes and coveted titles like best skim (male,  female, grom), best costume and best wipeout.

A maximum of 50 pond skimmers will participate and a helmet and valid lift ticket are required.

Guests can register for the event at the South Lodge Lobby from 10 - 11am.

In addition, the resort will celebrate their loyal season passholders with a complimentary barbeque on the South Deck from 12-3 pm.
