Artist Lineup

The Antoinette Montague Experience 12:00 – 2:00

Born and raised in Newark, singer Antoinette Montague grew up listening to jazz thanks to her mother who introduced her to great music from Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and even Motown. She credits the fabulous Etta Jones for being an important mentor. After graduating from Seton Hall University, Antoinette pursued a double career as a corporate executive and as a vocalist. And she attracted a lot of attention as the vocalist with the Duke Ellington Orchestra, but she has performed with a who’s who of jazz including Benny Powell, Mulgrew Miller, Winard Harper, Bernard Purdie, Earl May and Bucky Pizzarelli to name a few. She now leads an explosive group that features the Grammy-winning drummer and big band leader Bobby Sanabra on drums, legendary pianist Danny Mixon, and the exciting young tap dance sensation AC Lincoln. Stay tuned for the full line-up of The Antoinette Montague Experience and get ready to party!

The Frank Vignola Trio 2:00 – 4:00

The great Les Paul named Frank Vignola to his “Five Most Admired Guitarists List” for the Wall Street Journal not only for his jaw-dropping technique, but also for his wonderful musicianship. It is no wonder that he has been the guitarist of choice for so many musical greats including Tommy Emmanuel, Ringo Starr, and Wynton Marsalis. Since recovering from a very serious accident, Frank has returned full time to the genre-spanning music which has made him a fan favorite. His trio brings together Frank, his longtime creative partner and fellow guitarist Vinny Raniolo, and the superb bassist Gary Mazzaroppi. Frank and Vinny were often guests of the Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival favorite, Bucky Pizzarelli, who at 91 has decided to retire from performing. We are thrilled to have them return this year and continue the Pizzarelli legacy!

Rob Paparozzi’s Juke Joint 4:00 – 6:00

Frontman, singer, and harmonica player Rob Paparozzi and his incredible group pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of the historic Woodstock Music & Art Fair held from August 15 to August 18, 1969. The Woodstock Festival is widely regarded as one of the greatest moments in popular music history and, while Rob was just a little too young to attend, he later toured as lead singer for one of the icon bands that played that weekend, Blood Sweat & Tears. Considered one of today’s best harmonica players, Rob has toured the world with the “Original Blues Brothers Band” featuring guitar great Steve Cropper and has worked and recorded with an impressive list of musicians including B.B. King, Dr. John, Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston, Carole King, and Phoebe Snow. The Morristown Green will definitely have the Woodstock vibe when Paparozzi’s Juke Joint takes the stage!

Bernard Allison Group 6:00 – 8:00

Because they were rained out last summer, we are bringing the Bernard Allison Group back! Born in Chicago in 1965, Bernard Allison was first introduced to the blues and the art of the electric guitar by his father, the legendary Luther Allison. He worked hard at his chops and upon graduation from high school, went on the road with the Koko Taylor Blues Machine, touring the world and backing blues greats such as Willie Dixon. And now, with his music receiving regular air play on blues radio, European-based Bernard Allison has stepped into the spotlight as a polished artist who is rooted in the blues, but is charting his own path.

Davy Knowles 8:00 – 10:00

So many fans we disappointed that Davy couldn’t go on last year so he and his group are returning. Born and raised in the Isle of Man, Davy Knowles learned to play guitar by studying the likes of Rory Gallagher, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, and Peter Green, and learned his lessons well. Still in his early thirties, he is already turning heads with his mature style, and even the great Joe Satriani proclaimed Knowles his “favorite modern bluesman.” He has toured with Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy, The Who, Warren Haynes, George Thorogood, Joe Bonamassa, and Peter Frampton, playing festivals such as Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, and Austin City Limits. Davy Knowles is the future of the blues and the future is in capable hands.
