Description
Meet the moths of New Jersey!
Duke Farms will present moth expert Blaine Rothauser, senior ecologist, GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. for a hands-on, interactive session to observe the process of identifying moths, while also learning so much more about them like why they are important to the environment and what you can do to support the moths found in the state.
This group session will provide many opportunities to ask questions and to be guided through your own discoveries. Whether you are brand new to the world of moths or have an already established a love for them, this session is for you. There are approximately 160,000 species of moths in the world, this is a chance to meet more than a few.
Dress for the weather and bring a headlamp or flashlight. Bring a camera to take some awesome close-up shots. You may also wish to bring a lawn chair.
This program is appropriate for anyone ages 10 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult who is also registered.
Meet in front of the Farm Barn Orientation Center for check-in. Arrive 10-15 minutes before the start of class. Late arrivals will not be accommodated.
