Happy Day reopens in the early spring for its maple sugaring event. Help Farmer Tim tap the trees the “old-fashioned way.” You’ll take a tractor ride around the 130-acre property before arriving at Olivia’s Sugar Shack to help with the process. See the sugar bush, find out what equipment is needed to collect sap, and learn how to ID maple trees (there are 700 on the farm).
Pancakes and maple syrup will be available for purchase.
Feed the farm animals, too!
The Sugar Shack demonstrations are February 22-23, and March 1-2 and 22-23.
Tours will take place at 10 am, 11:15 am, 12:30 pm and 1:45 pm. Tickets will be sold at the door only, with no reservations are required. Arrive 15 minutes prior to your desired time slot.
Admission is $18 per person; kids 1 and under are free. Cash only.
Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts of America, and homeschool groups should email NJHappydayfarm@gmail.com to schedule a guided maple tour for your group.
Keep in mind, rough terrain and cold temperatures may be present during your visit. Dress accordingly. The first portion of the event in the Sugar Shack is wheelchair accessible. The second portion of the event is not considered wheelchair accessible due to uneven terrain. A tractor ride and a short walk on a wood chip path is required from the Sugar Shack to the Sugar Bush.
