Recommended for adults and children ages 12 and up (22 minutes) A new media installation and exhibition by Brooklyn artist Kambui Olujimi. A short fulldome video commissioned specifically for the Museum’s Dreyfuss Planetarium, Skywriters is the latest work in Olujimi’s Wayward North project. It is an immersive work of art, a collage of time and space that brings his mythic narrative brilliantly to life against the night sky of the planetarium’s dome. Constellations, a related series of 12 lithographs, introduces visitors to many of the characters and key events in Olujimi’s contemporary heroic tale. Skywriters will be screened in the Dreyfuss Planetarium at 4 pm daily. It is free with Museum admission, but ticketing is required. The Constellations exhibit will be on display in the Garden Passage adjacent to the Planetarium.
