Description
JC SummerArts
With instruction in various styles of dance, theater, music, and fine art, JC SummerArts provides an in-depth experience in the arts from process to refinement to performance. Classes are taught by working professional artists, including members of Nimbus' acclaimed professional dance company.
Emphasis is placed on individual student attention and small class sizes, providing engagement with process and foundation for technique and artistry. Our top priority is creating a positive and fun environment for our young campers!
Each week culminates with a final performance showcasing the work that camp students have accomplished. In addition to focused studio time, students spend outdoor time at the park (cooling off in the water sprinklers!). Other highlights include Ice Cream Fridays, head shot photos of each student, and more!
CONFIDENCE
The School of Nimbus firmly believes that the process of working toward a performance teaches discipline, confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and work ethic. Focus on the collaborative artistic process demonstrates how pride and care in one's work leads to better results, builds awareness community, and develops an understanding of how one’s actions affect other individuals.
LEADERSHIP
Classes are determined by age to ensure positive social interactions among and across peer groups. This provides older students with opportunities to practice leadership skills and give younger students positive role models to look up to.
EXPERT INSTRUCTION
JC SummerArts and the School of Nimbus require that all faculty members are caring individuals who have worked or are currently working professionally in their field. This ensures that students receive high quality and safe instruction in each subject.
GLOBAL AWARENESS
Every theme of JC SummerArts points towards cultural enrichment and social awareness. Nimbus promotes art as a means of communication and is a strong believer in the power that the arts and arts education can have in creating strong, informed, and diverse communities.
CREATIVITY
JC SummerArts is packed full of fun that will engage and challenge students in a rewarding way. We recognize and value the creativity inherent in every student. This creativity will be accessed and stretched in many activities throughout the week.
