Holiday Festivities at Sesame Place

Sesame Place® Philadelphia is open on weekends and select weekdays through January 5, 2025, including a full week for Winter Break festivities.

Sesame Place is celebrating the holiday season with A Very Furry Christmas on select dates now through January 5, 2025. This season, the park introduced new magical snowfall moments at the Sesame Street Neighborhood throughout the day, creating a winter environment as guests meet their favorite furry friends in their holiday best, explore the Merry Marketplace to shop for everyone on their list, and snack on tasty seasonal treats. Santa Claus will be available to meet guests at Santa’s Furry Workshop through December 31.

There are limited-time activities, entertainment, and treats, including decorating cookies at Cookies and Cocoa with Cookie Monster, singing and dancing along to the Furry Friends Holiday Dance Party, shopping for presents for loved ones at the Sesame Place Store, and enjoying specialty snacks.

Santa’s ‘Twas the Night Celebration
December 24
Guests are invited to a dazzling Christmas Eve celebration at the Sesame Street Neighborhood for a spirited send-off for Santa Claus on the night of his Big Ride.

Hanukkah Celebration
December 26 to January 1
Guests can celebrate the Jewish Festival of Lights with a menorah lighting ceremony and sing-along each evening at the Sesame Street Neighborhood, hosted by a local cantor, Baby Bear, and more Sesame Street friends. The celebration also features a Hanukkah Storytime with Baby Bear, a Hanukkah Activity Station, and Meet & Greets with Baby Bear.

Kwanzaa Celebration
December 26 to January 1
Each evening, guests can gather in Abby’s Paradise Theater for a special kinara lighting ceremony and sing-along. The celebration also features Kwanzaa Storytime with a furry friend and a special performance by the Universal African Dance and Drum Ensemble.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks
December 31
Sesame Place will count down to 2025 and ring in the new year with Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster and Count von Count during the dazzling “C…is for Celebrate!” New Year’s Eve Fireworks at 6 pm. For an extra-special treat, join Count von Count and more Sesame Street friends during The Count’s Countdown to New Year’s Celebration Dine from December 26 through December 31. Reservations and a separate fee are required for Dine experiences.

In 2025, Sesame Place Philadelphia is celebrating its 45th Birthday Celebration with its biggest birthday bash yet.
