Hoboken Holiday Events

The City of Hoboken and the Hoboken Business Alliance (HBA) announced its 2025 slate of holiday activations.

1. Hoboken’s annual Tree Lighting Celebration will take place on Thursday, December 11, from 5 to 6:30 pm at 11th Street island (11th & Washington Street). The event will feature Italian hot chocolate from Julietta and The Hive’s infamous Cinny Buns, as well as a limited number of free gifts distributed on a first-come first-served basis, and live music as the tree illuminates the Mile Square City.
2. Washington Street will transform into a must-visit holiday destination for Hoboken’s “Holiday Night Out” on Saturday, December 13, from 3 to 7 pm, spotlighting unique shops and tasty dishes. The evening will feature shopping specials, dining deals, live musical performances and winter craft workshops at various times and locations, including a Holiday Cookie Decorating Workshop at Symposia Books, a Santa Hat Customization Workshop at The Collective Hoboken, Holiday Destress – Candlelight Yoga at Surya Yoga Academy, and a Holiday Salsa Class at the Garden Street School of the Performing Arts.

This exclusive one-night-only celebration will cultivate a sense of holiday magic for Hoboken residents and visitors. Participating “Holiday Night Out” businesses and offerings include:

• The Brass Rail Hoboken: A free kids meal (ages 12 and under) with the purchase of one adult meal

• Stingray Lounge: $10 espresso martinis and $5 oyster shooters

• Grimaldi’s Pizzeria: $10 signature cocktails and 20% off your bill with purchase of a signature cocktail

• Julietta: Free hot chocolate and 15% off all purchases

• Bin 14: Available from 4-6pm, customers can enjoy specials from 10% off the bill to free pasta with an adult entree and $12 house drink specials

• Sirenetta: $12 holiday drinks

• Sorellina: $12 holiday drinks

• The Madison Bar and Grill: A $25.25 Blue Plate Special — choose an appetizer, entrée, and dessert for one great price

• Louise & Jerry’s Tavern: Surfside and High Noon bucket specials, $7 Casamigos jalapeno margaritas, and $7 Jameson Black Barrel shots

• Hoboken Clique: Spend $100 get 10% off, spend $200 get 15% off, spend $300 get 20% off

• Blue Violets Dispensary: $10 off of a $50 purchase

• Fleet Feet: 15% off shoes and 20% off apparel and accessories

• BOND: 25% off blowouts on December 13

During “Holiday Night Out,” pedestrians can listen to holiday music from carolers and a brass band roaming Washington Street throughout the evening, spreading festive cheer.

There will also be giveaways, including exclusive holiday tote bags with gift cards to Hoboken businesses handed out on Washington Street, available on a first-come first-served basis.

Free tickets to A Christmas Carol – A Live Radio Play at the Mile Square Theatre will be available while supplies last, and kids activities, pictures with Santa, and seasonal performances will take place at City Hall between 3:30 and 5:30 pm.

3. At the center of this year’s events is the Holiday Hop, a free expanded weekend shuttle service. The Holiday Hop will operate from 11 am to 6 pm on weekends through Sunday, December 21. Following the Senior Hop’s weekday route, the shuttle travels up Washington Street from 1st to 13th streets, crosses west to the Monroe Center and nearby supermarkets, and returns east via 1st Street. Riders can track real-time shuttle locations through the Passio GO app.

4. This free transportation will complement the city’s ongoing holiday parking incentives, which runs from Black Friday, November 28, through New Year’s Eve, including 30 minutes of free evening and weekend parking along Washington Street and up to four hours of free garage parking in Garages B and D with proof of a $25 purchase from a Hoboken business through a partnership with the HBA.
