Description
Come together and share your love of birds, be citizen scientists and be a part of a global movement. The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual citizen science event where people from around the world submit their bird watching data.
For the special event, you will take an easy stroll around the property, stop at the bird feeding stations, and count all of the birds you see. You'll discuss basic field ID and how to use eBird when birding on your own.
Once everyone is finished observing and counting, you all will submit your data on eBird where scientists at Cornell University and other researchers will use it to track bird populations.
No birding experience is necessary.
The first session is from 10:30 am - 12 pm as part of the Emerging Ecologist Program for kids in grades 6-9. The second session, from 1-2:30 pm, is geared for anyone 6+. Register for your session in advance.
