Description
If the hustle and bustle and the tinsel and glitter of a 21st-century Christmas makes you long for a simpler day, then join the Bergen County Historical Society for their 39th Annual Colonial Christmas Concerts and Tavern Fare.
Performances take place in the historically decorated 270-year-old Steuben House at 6 pm and 7:45 pm each evening, where Linda Russell & Company will whisk you back to Yuletides of yesteryear with the carols of your childhood and stories of Christmas past.
You can stroll through the candlelit site to the Blackhorse Inn, open 4:45 - 8:30 pm for a light supper or dessert of period favorites such as shepherd's pie, onion & cheese pie, Ploughman's plate, English trifle, selection of Dutch sweets, cake donuts, and cider.
Take a moment to visit Sinterklass in the Demarest House and don't forget to stop in the gift shop for a unique and perfect present.
Face masks are optional.
Concert admission: $35 non-members, $28 BCHS members. Seating is limited for each performance. Advance purchase through the society's website is recommended.
Tavern fare is at an additional cost.
