Outdoor festivities will take place at Jacobus Vanderveer House & Museum in Bedminster’s River Road Park on Saturday, December 5, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM and conclude with our annual tree lighting from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
The Friends of the Jacobus Vanderveer House invite visitors of all ages to experience Christmas past and present when the circa 1772 Dutch Colonial hosts its holiday celebration on Saturday, December 5, 2020 beginning at 12:00 PM with a variety of festive activities.
A patriotic Liberty Tree lighting, Revolutionary Era re-enactors firing a cannon and demonstrating muskets, free and socially distanced photos with Santa, holiday shopping while enjoying the beautifully decorated exterior of the historic home and grounds are in store at the 18th Annual Colonial Christmas at Bedminster’s historic Jacobus Vanderveer House & Museum.
New this year is an artistic expression contest for children and young adults: “What the Holidays Mean to Me.” The winner presentation will take place during our Liberty Tree Lighting.
2020 marks the 18th anniversary of the Friends of the Jacobus Vanderveer House annual Colonial Christmas celebration. The historic house exterior of the museum will be fully decorated and a virtual tour will be available on site. This event will take place outdoors ONLY this year due to Covid-19. Social distancing will be enforced and masks are required. Any changes in New Jersey State regulations will be enforced.
