Description
Thirty-six high school teams will meet to compete during the annual Brunswick Eruption robotics event, hosted by the North Brunswick Township High
School’s robotics team, Team 25-Raider Robotix.
In its 22nd year, Brunswick Eruption will have high school-aged teams from around the New Jersey/Pennsylvania/metro New York region play the FIRST Robotics game CRESCENDO, the game challenge from the FIRST Robotics Competition 2024 season.
During FIRST Robotics Competitions (FRC), large-scale robots, each weighing approximately 130 pounds, are designed, built, and controlled by high-school students to play on a large gymnasium-sized field. In this event, CRESCENDO will be played with two alliances comprising three robots each. Teams only have two-and-a-half minutes to battle the other alliance and race to place rings representing “notes” into a “speaker” and “amp” for points by picking up and shooting the ring. At the last few seconds of the match, robots will try to hang on a platform “stage” for more points.
The top eight seeded teams will draft a permanent alliance and then compete in a round-robin elimination playoff tournament.
Admission to this event is free to the public.
The Raider Robotix team will be collecting food items for the North Brunswick Food Pantry, and the public and participating robotics teams are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items.
Doors open at 8 am for spectators. Opening ceremonies begin at 8:30 am. You can stay all day.
Bring safety glasses if you want to tour the pit area to see the robots up close and speak to the teams.
Concessions are cash only.
If you can’t attend this competition in person, this event and other robotics events can usually be viewed live online at https://thebluealliance.com.
