Celebrate Brigid’s Day and Candlemas with the Bergen County Historical Society at Historic New Bridge Landing.
At 2 pm and 2:30 pm sit in the main room of the state historic 1752 Steuben House and listen to Scottish/Irish Celtic traditional tunes on the bagpipes from members of The Police Pipes and Drums of Bergen County.
New exhibits from BCHS’s extensive collection will also be on display in the Steuben House including artifacts from the Revolutionary War.
Take a peek at the treasures in the gift shop while you enjoy donuts and hot cider which will be available for purchase inside the tavern.
Visit the society’s authentic Jersey-Dutch out-kitchen where interpreters will be demonstrating the 18th century craft of candle making using authentic materials.
Activities for families including corn husk Brigid’s cross and doll making available throughout the afternoon.
Ticket reservations are encouraged: $12 adults, $7 students, BCHS members free.
Free parking available on site or take the train to the New Bridge Landing station on the Pascack Valley Line.
Dogs are permitted on site on a leash but not in the houses.
