The Anthropologists presents the world premiere of “axes, herbs and satchels,” an investigative play that travels across generations with storytelling, movement and ritual.
“axes, herbs and satchels” celebrates the traditional knowledge held in the Black birth worker community and potently examines maternal mortality. Developed through extensive ethnographic research and personal accounts, The Anthropologists’ new play is an act of reparative history that opens a space for communal learning, reckoning and healing.
This event may involve material that may not be appropriate for young children.
Run time is 80 minutes.
Tickets are $35 general admission, or $25 for students and seniors.
