Description

In-Person. Try your hand cooking on a hearth the way your ancestors did at the Montclair History Center! You'll learn how to manage the fire, use a "spider," and bake in a Dutch oven. The class will work together to cook a meal using historic "receipts" (aka recipes) and enjoy time around the hearth fire. Classes take place in the hearth kitchen of the Crane House & Historic YWCA. All participants will receive a free copy of Thirteen Colonies Cookbook. Includes all supplies. Bring Your Own Beverage. Proof of vaccination will be required. As of now, masks will be optional for the interior portion of the program. Tickets are required in advance. Registration  closes on Thursday, April 28th at 3 pm.
$100/person, $85 for Montclair History Center members.
