Mmmm…. donuts. Get ready to channel your inner Homer Simpson, Paramus. The nationwide chain, Duck Donuts, is opening soon (possibly even in March) in the Sprout Brook Shopping Center on Route 17 North.
The donut chain has locations in Central and South Jersey, in Marlton, Middletown, Green Brook, Clark, Avalon and Sea Isle City. But now they don’t have to be a beach vacation treat anymore.
If you haven’t had the chance to indulge in these delicious goodies before, start with some fan favorites, like the Bacon in the Sun, which is a donut covered with maple icing, chopped bacon and salted caramel drizzle, the Blueberry Pancake, a donut covered with blueberry icing, maple drizzle and powdered sugar, or the Boardwalk, a glazed confection covered with Oreo crumbles, powdered sugar and vanilla drizzle.
You can also design your own donut. Because why not? Made-to-Order Donuts start with a vanilla cake donut, then chose the coating (things like powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, glaze, strawberry), add a topping (everything from sprinkles to bacon) and then add a drizzle (like marshmallow or salted caramel).
You can place your orders online so you can do pickup, or curbside, to avoid standing in lines.
If that’s not enough donut goodness, there’s a Krispy Kreme opening in Paramus in 2021 as well. It will be on Route 4 West, in the spot where the old McDonald’s used to be. When this opens, it will be its second Bergen County location. The first is in East Rutherford.
