If the kids saw Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters over the holiday break, you’ll need to add this Elizabeth destination to your list. Lightsaber Dojo, a Star Wars VR Experience, is at The Mills at Jersey Gardens through February 2.
Odds are the kids have fought tons of make-believe battles with imaginary lightsabers. Now, they can gear up and get a taste of the real thing. Made by immersive entertainment company Nomadic, the virtual reality attraction is an arcade-style training experience.
Once the kids put on the Oculus Quest headsets, they can flex their Jedi skills by fighting off droids and bad guys. Their scores will get added to a national database, and they’ll get to see how they rank. If the kids want to take the fun home with them, a limited-time bundle including a headset and three episodes from Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series.
Hours are Monday to Saturday from 10 am-9 pm and Sundays from 11 am-7 pm. Tickets are $9.99 a person and can be bought at the walk-up kiosk. Get a sneak peek at the experience here.
