Dentistry for Children has provided quality pediatric dental care to the children and families of New Jersey for more than 40 years, growing from a single location in Toms River to nine locations across the state.

The practice is committed to treating children in a friendly and welcoming environment. The dentists use digital X-rays and modern equipment in their bright, open and kid-friendly offices. There are iPads and games in the waiting rooms and movies in each room for the kids to watch during their appointments.

The compassionate, friendly dentists ensure that families fully understand their treatment options and that patients are always at ease, including those who may be fearful or have special needs.

“When my father, Dr. Donn Winokur, started practicing, he was one of the first in the area to treat children with special needs—and it remains an incredibly important part of our practices to this day,” says Dr. Jenna C. Winokur.

Educating Families on Dental Health

The dentists emphasize education with both patients and parents to ensure that families are adopting healthy dental habits, from the amount of toothpaste to use to the snacks that are best for a child’s teeth and overall health. The practice also offers convenient office hours as well as online appointment scheduling and the ability to communicate with staff through text.

“It’s an incredible feeling when you have a child that may be a bit anxious to come to the dentist and you see them walk away with a huge smile on their face, or they give you a high-five or a hug at the end of their visit,” she says. “We know that you have to build trust with the little patients, and that’s what makes them look forward to coming back to see the dentist.”
