Mountain Creek Resort in Vernon is bringing back its long-running Oktoberfest celebration for the 37th year in a row on Saturday, September 25 and Sunday, September 26.
Mountain Creek’s Oktoberfest includes live music, German food, and some pretty wild activities including a lumberjack contest, bale of hay tosses, bratwurst tosses and even a wife-carrying contest!
Kids will enjoy the petting zoo, a pie-eating contest, inflatables and even free sky rides on the Mountain Creek life. General admission is $20 a person and for an additional $15 guests can ride the resort’s popular Mountain Coaster.
If you’re a beer fan, Mountain Creek will be offering a variety of the best German beers in the Biergarten, as well as several food stations on the Great Lawn such as the Pretzel Station, Dessert Station, Corn & Pickle Station and the Main Food Tent, which will offer traditional German food such as Scheinhoxe, a traditional Bavarian cuisine that encases juicy pork in crackling skin, served with German potato salad, sliced sauerbraten sandwiches, bratwurst, potato pancakes and more (yum!). There will also be kids favorites such as cheeseburgers, hot dogs and chicken sandwiches available.
“We are thrilled to once again host Oktoberfest this fall at Mountain Creek,” said Hugh Reynolds, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Mountain Creek. “With the world still adapting to an eventual return to normalcy, the ability to hold this annual tradition in classic fashion once again is exciting. We have a great array of food, beverage and entertainment options to offer guests of all ages at the 37th annual Oktoberfest celebration, and we think this year will be most fun we’ve had in a long time!”
Oktoberfest begins both days at 12 pm and the fun goes on until 6 pm. Musical entertainment includes John Stevens’ Polka Band, Evolution X and the Scott McBrit Band. This is one family-friendly event that truly has something for everyone. A full schedule of events can be found online at MountainCreek.com.
