More than 80 farms across the US are celebrating the 50th anniversary of Charles Schulz’s It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown this fall. Various locations are opening elaborate corn mazes for families to wander through on their own search for the Great Pumpkin.
Many of the mazes were created by The MAiZE Inc., the biggest cornfield maze consulting and design business in the world. The mazes span from four to 40 acres each. The farms will, of course, feature Charlie Brown and his friends in the mazes and décor. The farms will also put on a special screening of the cartoon. What better way for your kids to fall in love with this timeless story the same way you did?
Make the trip to Wright Family Farm in Warwick, NY, where your kids will love getting lost in the Snoopy-shaped corn maze and Great Pumpkin Patch. October hours are from 4-7 pm and admission is $10 for the maze and all barnyard attractions.
Head to Shady Brook Farm in Yardley, PA any day from October 7-31 from 11 am-4 pm. Be sure to try your luck in the Linus and Sally maze. Admission is $15/person.
Harbes Family Farm in Long Island is a bit of a trip, but it’s a bargain because your walk through the Snoopy corn maze is included in the Barnyard Adventure $7.95/each admission. Go any weekend of the month starting October 17 between 11 am-5:30 pm.
While there are no officially licensed events in New Jersey, there is a non-licensed event at Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre in Titusville named “It’s the Great Pumpkin in the Park.” The event is every Saturday and Sunday between October 8th and 16th, and runs from noon to 3 pm. This interactive experience has trick-or-treat activities for the kids, as well as games, music and prizes. Entry is $5 for all NJ residents.
