LEGOs all over your floor? Not so fun. LEGOs that look like a miniature city? Totally cool. And this one sounds awesome. Make plans to take the short drive to Philadelphia, PA this spring for the brand new Legoland Discovery Center. The project will be finalized by April 6, but the first piece of the MINILAND Philly display was revealed this week: a nine-foot model of One Liberty Place, a Philly landmark made from more than 17,000 LEGO bricks by nine builders (this took more than 930 hours to finish!).

Philly’s MINILAND in the Plymouth Meeting Mall will consist of roughly one-and-a-half million LEGO pieces, and showcase city hotspots like City Hall and The Comcast Center. The location will be one of a mere nine in the country and of 18 internationally. The center will be 33,000 square feet, and not only hold 10 LEGO play areas (MINILAND being one of them), but also a LEGO-themed amusement ride and a 4D theater.

This project is sure to bring in tons of tourists; if your kid has never been to Philly, Legoland is a great way to introduce her to it. Single day tickets are only $19 online and $24 at the door. You can also buy annual passes for $59 starting March 31 (there’s a special promotion online now to save $5), which will snag you discounts and unlimited access to Philly’s MINILAND, as well as to the cafe and shop. Buy your annual pass now and your crew will get the exclusive invite to the “First to Play” preview on April 1-2.
