Brrr. It's chilly these days here in New Jersey! And while I love to get outside with the kids even on cold days and ski, sled, hike, and explore nature, there's nothing like coming back inside, taking off heavy clothes and enjoying a nice, warm drink. Here are 15 kid-friendly and delicious hot drinks perfect to sip by the fire, or at the kitchen table.

Hot Chocolate Variations

Homemade Hot Chocolate: This recipe makes enough to last all winter

Hot Toffee Chocolate: This drink is so decadent, it should probably be a dessert. (Shown in photo)

Malted Hot Cocoa with Toasted Marshmallows: The addition of malted milk makes for a unique, and delicious, taste.

Minty Hot Cocoa Float: Hot chocolate and ice cream. Yum.

Nutella Hot Chocolate: Yes, it's as good as it sounds. You're welcome.

Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate: The chocolate and peanut butter flavors are perfect together.

White Hot Chocolate: Add a peppermint garnish for a great winter treat.

Apple-Pie Spiced Cider: A delicious sweet version of traditional apple cider.

Lemon Cider: Easy to make and great for a party.

Warm Mulled Cider: Fruit and spices make this a delight on a cold afternoon.

Hot Spiced Ginger Lemonade: My personal favorite. I like it as much as my kids do.

Warm Vanilla Milk: Delicious, and it may even get your kids to sneak in a nap.
