Wegmans, the upscale supermarket chain, is finally making its way to two towns in North Jersey. The Hanover Township location just opened on Sunday. In Bergen County, Montvale marketplace is scheduled to be operational by September 24 at Shoppes at DePiero Farm on the land that was once a beloved 28-acre family-run farm.

If you’ve never had the pleasure of shopping at Wegmans before, here’s what to expect: freshly baked bread, outstanding produce, a wide range of gourmet (and delicious) cheeses, local produce, reasonably priced organic items and literally everything else you could possibly want.

And if you dread grocery shopping because of the cramped aisles and the potential for unpleasant human interaction, don’t worry: Wegmans is famous for its roomy store layouts and extra-friendly employees.

If that’s not enough to convince you, Consumer Reports rates Wegmans as the absolute best grocery store in the nation year after year.

If you want to save yourself a trip to Wegmans (or Petco, Whole Foods, Costco or CVS, for that matter), you can use Instacart starting August 1, a grocery delivery service that will soon cover 48 new towns in Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth and Somerset Counties. Goods can be delivered to your door in as little as one hour by using the service.

The Hanover and Montvales are joining the ranks of locations in Bridgewater, Cherry Hill, Manalapan, Mt. Laurel, Ocean, Princeton and Woodbridge. Cross your fingers to find Wegmans signature features like an immaculate sushi bar and an expansive wine selection at the new store. There’s hundreds of thousands of square feet with plenty of possibilities.
