April Showers Bring Cute Rain Gear

Dinosaur Rain GearKids' rain gear is just plain adorable. And here are a few of my favorites for fun (and practical) rain coats, rain boots, and umbrellas so your kids can enjoy April showers:

For toddlers and younger children, Kidorable has lots of matching rain coatsrain boots, and umbrellas for boys and girls. The dinosaur ensemble (shown in photo on right) even has spiky scales on the rain coat sleeves ($36, and comes with a matching hanger), the rain boots ($29), and on top of the umbrella ($13.50).

For older kids, the Kamik Kids Stomp ($35) makes a great all-purpose boot for boys and girls and comes in a range of solid colors. And for younger kids, the Kamik Kids boots have fantastic patterns, like the Spacewalker ($35).

Another good choice for kids are Bogs, which come in a range of heights including the Bogs Rue, which is a 100 percent waterproof slip-on ($52, currently on sale for $40.90).

Hatley makes terrific rain gear options for all ages. For infants and toddlers, they have the unique Rainbundler ($66). This waterproof, one-piece rain romper zips up the front, has an attached hood, and a warm, terry lining. And, it comes in four fun patterns, including flowers, blue whales, dinos, and Nordic bugs.

Monsters Rain CoatFor boys, Hatley has lots of choices including my personal favorite the Monsters raincoat (shown in photo on left) ($53), with matching Monsters boots ($38) and a Monsters umbrella ($19).

For girls, there are also lots of fun choices including the pink with green lining Running Horses raincoat ($53), and bright, bold Red Stripes boots ($55).

For older kids, Hunter Boots are stylish and well-made and come in lots of colors. I love the metallic silver ($75).

And for grown-ups, there are some great options for splashing around, too. I'm a big fan of Tretorn rain boots, as well as Hunter boots and Bogs footwear. All have lots of stylish and practical choices, so there's no excuse for not getting out and enjoying the next rainy day!

Are your kids puddle jumpers or puddle avoiders? And how about you? (And if you're puddle jumpers, how cute do you look while out in the rain! Share your favorite rain gear!)
