Annoying Water Bottle Flipping Is an Actual Thing—and It’s Catching On

If you’re finding half-empty plastic water bottles all over your living room floor, you’re not alone

The seemingly incessant water bottle flipping your kid may be doing around the house is a trend on the rise. And it’s all thanks to a YouTube video.

What’s the obsession in question? Kids use their hands to flip half-empty water bottles in the air and aim to have them land standing upright on any surface they can find. National news outlets like Parents and the Boston Globe recently reported on the trend taking hold in homes and at schools across the country.

Of course there are worse things kids could be doing.  Water-bottle flipping isn’t harmful or dangerous. But it is super annoying and incredibly wasteful when your kid half empties a bottle to start flipping.

If you're one of the lucky parents whose kid hasn’t gotten hooked on bottle-flipping, do yourself a favor and avoid any mention of it.
