If you thought all those summer trips to the ice cream shop had your kids on a sugar high, wait until you take them to Candytopia, an Instaworthy pop-up exhibit coming to NYC next month.
After a stint in LA last year, Candytopia is hitting the Big Apple with 12+ beyond-sweet rooms and installations for your little sugar monsters to explore. This confectionary masterpiece is the brainchild of Jackie Sorkin, the star of TLC’s Candy Queen and Hollywood candy-themed event mastermind. The NYC pop-up will run until January 6, 2019.
Your fam’s collective sweet tooth will guide you through eye candy like purple flying pigs, a marshmallow tsunami, an edible underwater scene complete with a sugary shark, edible art made from jelly beans, gummies and other treats, giant emojis, rainbow optical illusions, a licorice dragon and more.
If your tweens caught FOMO after seeing pics of visitors swimming in the Museum of Ice Cream's sprinkle pit, they’ll be beyond psyched to dive into the marshmallow pool. If she’s a summer baby, you can even host a birthday party at Candytopia, and opt for features like fresh-spun cotton candy, a stop at the candy station which boasts 15 types of candy and chocolate and a candy craft (rock candy earrings or DIY Pixy Stix, anyone?)
Candytopia will be at Penn Plaza, located at 145 W. 32nd St. in New York City starting August 15. Tickets go for $26 for kids ages 4-12 and $34 for grown-ups (tots 3 and under get in free). Follow Candytopia on social media for updates.
