UPDATE 4/21: Due to some unexpected delays, NJ’s newest aquarium and Legoland Discovery Center won’t be opening until this summer. New dates should be announced for both of the American Dream attractions soon.

Exciting news for families looking for some springtime fun – New Jersey’s “City Under the Sea” Sea Life Aquarium and Legoland Discovery Center New Jersey, both located in American Dream in East Rutherford, will open their doors to visitors this summer.

Sea Life Aquarium will feature New Jersey’s only underwater tunnel where you can get an up-close view of tropical fish, sharks and sea turtles as they swim amidst “fishified” NYC landmarks. The aquarium is home to over 3,000 sea creatures for you and your little ones to explore.

Preview tickets are on sale now and start at $30.99 for adults and $25.99 for kids ages 3-12 (children 2 and under are free). Preview days allow visitors to be the first to “sea” 10+ interactive exhibits at Sea Life, including the touch pool, talks and feed shows, and the amazing underwater tunnel. Preview days are April 24-25 and there is limited availability for this first look!

To make it a truly epic day, you can add Legoland Discovery Center, also in American Dream, to your visit. Legoland Discovery Center features the ultimate indoor Lego playground where you can explore Miniland, a replica of NYC & NJ landmarks made of over 1.5 million Lego bricks. Kids can test their ninja skills in the Ninjago Training Camp and even create and race their own Lego car down a speed ramp. When they’re all tired out, enjoy a snack together at the Lego Café. Combo tickets are $40.99 for adults and $35.99 for kids.

Both Sea Life Aquarium and Legoland Discovery Center are taking extra steps to ensure guests and staff stay safe from COVID, including mask requirements for guests ages 2 and older, extra sanitation of attractions, limited Playtimes at Legoland and Lego bricks for your family’s exclusive use.

Be sure to reserve your tickets in advance online for both of these exciting new attractions.
