If there’s any food NYC is known for, it’s pizza. So it’s no surprise that an epic immersive art experience 100 percent dedicated to the stuff is coming to the Big Apple this fall.
Created by Nameless Network, a youth media group based in Brooklyn, Museum of Pizza is hitting Manhattan October 13-28 (all days but Monday). Best part? A portion of every $35 ticket bought is donated to provide families in need with free meals. Plus, tix get you a free slice at or outside the venue. Oh, and your 12-and-unders (and seniors!) get in totally free with a pizza-loving grown-up.
#MoPi isn’t all about eating, though. Installations focus on multisensory art and fun dedicated to the ooey-gooey goodie. Exhibits are still being finalized, but you can expect highlights such as a cheese cave, pizza beach (if that doesn’t sound like selfie gold to you, we don’t know what will), pizza art gallery, interactive history of pizza and the “Pizza Zen” sense and sound meditation experience. You’ll also be able to get your gamer on in the MoPi Arcade, and squeeze in an exclusive flick at the MoPi Pizza Films screening room and media lab.
The secret NYC location of the museum is still TBA, so keep an eye on Instagram and the official website for updates. PS, while the promo pics and video aren’t exactly kid-friendly, reps of the museum say the venue is for all ages. Nevertheless, be warned: there are some dark portions of the museum, so it might not be right for your mini if he gets scared in the dark.
