Something prehistoric is hitting the Bronx this spring. An epic Dinosaur Safari is opening at the Bronx Zoo on April 19. Instead of typical lions and tigers, this ride will feature massive prehistoric creatures.
The safari ride will take guests back to the past in an open-top wagon when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Huge animatronic dinos that move and make noise will wow the kids, as will booming sound effects and surprise jolts. After the ride, shop snacks and souvenirs at the Field Site.
Events and activities will be open to the public all summer. Dig into life-size fossils at the DInosaurs Rock pop-up, followed by the Fossil Adventure Show with a dino expert (June 22-30). Flex your STEM skills at LEGOLAND Dinosaur Week (August 24-September 2), when a master builder will lead building demos. Dress in your reptilian best for the Dinosaurs Parade (June 1-2), where guests will get to march (and roar) their way through the zoo.
The safari is only open until November 3. Safari is included in Total Experience tickets ($29.95/kids ages 3-12, $39.95/adults), but individual safari ride tickets are also available for purchase ($6). Parking for cars is $17-23.
Bronx Zoo is located at 2300 Southern Blvd., Bronx, NY. Call 718-220-5100 or visit bronxzoo.com for more information.
