Kylie, an eight-year-old student from Winslow Township, was punished with a full-day suspension after sporting a kelly green polo shirt to class on Tuesday that violated the dress code.
Winslow Township School No. 4 deemed the light green shirt a violation of Camden County’s dress code, which requires its pupils’ tops to be either white, dark green or navy.
Known for its county-wide dress code, Kylie, her twin sister Carly and their mother were met at door of the school by their principal Tuesday morning after arriving a few minutes late.
Allegedly upon seeing the eight-year-old’s blouse, the principal told Kylie’s mother that she shouldn’t bother signing her into school today because the she had violated the dress code after being warned once previously.
The Winslow Township school states that the above version of the day’s events are inaccurate, however they have not provided any further details on the incident.
