5 New Holiday Traditions to Start

We love celebrating the traditions our parents passed down to us. This year, try starting some of your own.

1. Go caroling…digitally

Try a modern take on traditional door-to-door caroling by picking your favorite Christmas tune, cueing the video camera and letting everyone belt out their fa-la-la’s. Post it on your favorite social media platform to share with faraway family.

2. Pick up some new holiday PJs

Get the entire squad matching jammies and wear them in your holiday photo or while opening gifts.

3. Pick a night to throw an ornament-making party

Make sure to date each ornament so you have unique keepsakes to hang on the tree year after year. Use the art supplies you have, or pick up ornament kits from a craft store.

4. For Hanukkah, give the kids their own menorah

Have the kids pick out a menorah or make one themselves. See our custom one for how-to inspiration.

5. Start a day-after-Christmas tradition

Take a day off work and visit a place you all love or haven’t been to yet. Make an annual outing out of it so the kids have even more to look forward to during the holidays.
