At Advanced Psychiatric Associates, Drs. Wilbert Yeung, Eileen  Zhivago and Amanda Carlin provide psychiatric evaluations, psychotherapy and psychopharmacology services in a relaxed, comfortable private office setting. Board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists, Dr. Yeung and Dr. Zhivago work alongside Dr. Carlin, a licensed psychologist, to treat children, teens, adults and families for conditions including anxiety, depression, OCD, mood disorders, ADHD, eating disorders and behavioral issues.

Making Patient Comfort a Priority

“Parents are often hesitant about taking their child to a psychiatrist, so we strive to make patients comfortable, share our expertise and knowledge and empower them to make the best decisions for their family,” Dr. Yeung says. Healing begins with an evaluation and discussion of available treatments, including therapy and medication options. “We help patients and their parents feel like educated consumers, and ease any fears they may have about psychiatric treatment,” Dr. Zhivago says. The doctors partner with families, schools and other professionals to advocate for patients on their road to recovery. “It’s important that patients feel supported and part of the process, and that they’ve learned life skills they can always carry with them,” Dr. Carlin says.

Extensive Training and Deep Expertise

Affiliated with Overlook Medical Center and Morristown Medical Center, Dr. Yeung attended Harvard University and Rutgers-RWJ Medical School before completing his residency and fellowship at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Zhivago completed her residency at Rutgers-NJ Medical School, where she now serves as an associate professor, and fellowship at Mount Sinai-St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center. A certified provider of  Family Based Treatment (FBT) for eating and feeding disorders, Dr. Carlin earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
