At Advanced Psychiatric Associates, Drs. Wilbert Yeung and Eileen Zhivago provide psychiatric evaluations, psychotherapy and psychopharmacology services in a relaxed, comfortable private office setting. The practice has also recently expanded to a third location in Glen Rock.

Board certified in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry, Drs. Yeung and Zhivago treat children, teens and adults for a variety of conditions including anxiety, depression, OCD, mood disorders, ADHD, eating disorders and behavioral issues. The multi-disciplinary team also includes a psychologist and a licensed clinical social worker, and is now pleased to offer family-based treatment for eating disorders.

Patient Comfort Is a Priority

“Parents are often hesitant about taking their child to see a psychiatrist, so we strive to make patients as comfortable as possible, to share our expertise and knowledge with them and to empower them to make the best decisions for their family,” says Dr. Yeung.

Treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation and discussion of all available treatment modalities, including both therapy and medication options. “We help patients and their parents to feel like educated consumers, and ease any fears that they may have about psychiatric treatment,” says Dr. Zhivago. The doctors partner with families, schools, and other professionals to advocate for patients on their road to recovery.

Extensive Backgrounds and Expertise

Dr. Zhivago completed her residency at Rutgers-NJ Medical School and fellowship at Mount Sinai-St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center. She is an associate professor at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School. Affiliated with Overlook Hospital and Morristown Medical Center, Dr. Yeung attended Harvard University and Rutgers-RWJ Medical School before completing his residency and fellowship at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

“Dr. Yeung takes his time and really listens to the child as well as the parents. He is thorough and patient and gives each person the time they really need. His diagnosis seems to be right on, but he treats his patients like people, not like an illness. My son likes Dr. Yeung as well. He feels heard and understood, which is not always the case when seeing psychiatrists. We recommend Dr. Yeung for this years favorite kids' doctor!!!”-Karen, Fair Lawn

"Dr. Zhivago is an excellent practitioner. She's very knowledgeable in her field and compassionate towards her patients and their families. She made us feel very comfortable.
