Between the memes, the Kitty Halftime Show and cuddles, how could anyone not love cats? Now you and all the cat people you know can come out and celebrate your feline friends at Convention Hall and Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park on April 7-8 at the Catsbury Park Cat Convention.

This fest is the East Coast’s top event of its kind, and it’ll be bringing cool cats from all over to the shore for all things cat-related. It’s no surprise that the convention is organized and hosted by Catsbury Park, a non-profit rescue and cafe in downtown Asbury Park. Portions of the convention’s proceeds go to the rescue, plus other local orgs and charities including The Brodie Fund, Jersey Shore Animal Foundation, Camden County Animal Shelter and Paul the Cat Guy.

Your general admission ticket grants you access to the convention, plus activities like presentations, cat trivia, cat bingo, the Cat Art Show, games and more. For additional fees, you can get a pass to meet and greets with famous kitties (that’s right, you have a chance to meet Lil Bub!) and other select presentations, like one by the Kitten Lady, whose famous for fostering orphaned kittens. If you want to learn more about your kitty companion, head to Cat Chat, an ask-the-experts Q&A.

Other features include a tattoo booth offering select cat tats, a face painting station and cat yoga. You and the kids can also grab a seat at the screening of Catnip Nation or Catwoman. Feeling spiritual? Get a tarot card reading from Lil’ Brian, Catsbury Park’s local cat celeb. And of course, cats and kittens will be up for adoption on site.

Tickets are $12-35 for general admission. The convention takes place at Convention Hall on the boardwalk and next to the beach, or 1300 Ocean Ave., Asbury Park.
