Freedom Fest State Fair

Looking for a break from the pool and beach? Head on over to this festival at the Horse Park of NJ. For one standard price, you can enjoy unlimited carnival rides and entertainment for no extra charge. There will even be a magic show, racing and live animals. 

Ocean County Fair

There will be rides, vendors, performances and animals for everyone to enjoy at Robert Miller Airport. Make sure to get your tickets and experience the fun.

Bubble Trouble

Your little one will have the time of their lives at this Bickford Theatre event full of bubbles! They will be mesmerized by a bubble volcano and all the wonderful creations of Jeff Boyer.

Thursday Evening Mystery Hike

Grab your sneakers to enjoy nature on a peaceful hike at the Schiff Nature Center. No need to worry about the pace; adults and children both will be able to keep up.

The Magic of Sharks

Magician Steve Woyce is back to deliver a fun show at Washington Public Library in Long Valley. Magic, comedy and learning combined teach your kiddo all about sharks.

Your little stargazer will love this Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum event. After learning about the telescope, you can stargaze from the flight deck.

Emoji Event: “It’s Beyond Words”

Your kids can see their favorite emojis off screen and make beaded creations in Westfield this weekend. They'll create necklaces, keychains and backpack pulls, plus enjoy a game of emoji charades.

Day Out With Thomas

Head down to Phillipsburg to learn the meaning of friendship. After a 25-minute train ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, meet the characters and do friendship themed crafts. Little ones have the chance to win some friendship bracelets, too.

White Meadow Lake Festival Days

Head to Rockaway for rides and entertainment. There will even be a volleyball tournament, Danceathon, scavenger hunt and a Sand Castle Building Contest.


Travel to the 1950’s for this production of Hairspray put on by the Ashley Lauren Foundation at Strand Center for the Arts. Sing and dance with the characters and have a great time for a great cause.

Black Potatoe Music Festival

This 3-day independent music festival at the Red Mill Museum Village features over 25 different bands. If you’re a music lover, this is a go-to. Daily tickets are available, or you can splurge and get a discount on a 3-day pass.

City of Water Day: Free Family Festival

Celebrate and enjoy the waterfront from Governor's Island in NYC at this event. You can enjoy free boat tours, free rowing, kayaking and paddle-boarding as well as enjoy activities on shore for the family.

18th Annual Garden Party

Nature and music combine at this peaceful Colonial Park Gardens celebration. Bring your chairs and blankets and bask in classical music while enjoying the beautiful flowers present in the garden.

A Festival of Nature

If your family is into nature and wildlife, then they’ll love this event. Head to Warren's Wagner Farm Arboretum to see animals like falcons, eagles, hawks and wolves. You’ll also get to see butterflies while enjoying food, games, music and vendors.


Your family will enjoy this unique opportunity to learn about cars and trucks in South Plainfield. As the cars are on display, grab your camera for great pictures.

Grab your blankets and beach chairs for a festival full of short films at the Atlantic Highlands Marina. Each film are all less than two minutes and are displayed on a large screen. In between films, do arts and crafts, eat great food and shop at the vendors.

Boogie Board Races

Hit the waters of the Jersey Shore this weekend and participate at this Wildwood Convention Center get-together.


Who knew exercise could be this fun? At Bubblepalooza in Pilegrove, you can participate in a 5K run while being immersed in an array of colors and bubbles.

Caribbean Steel Rhythms

Enjoy some indoor fun at Warren County Library and take a break from the sun at this event. Your family can learn about Caribbean music and dance to the beat.

Summer in the Street

Dance to the rhythm of live music while being fascinated by street performers in Toms River. This summer festival will be fun for everyone. While the adults shop and enjoy the vendors, the kids can enjoy inflatable rides, sand art and get their faces painted.

13th Annual Celtic Festival

You will be transformed back in time to the 1800’s as you explore this festival at Historic Cold Spring Village. Historic buildings will reopen and interpreters will add to the scenery. Musical entertainment and live music will also be available.

Surf and Turf Seafood Festival

Nothing goes better with the shore than fresh seafood. This two-day festival at the Monmouth Racetrack will feature live music, beer, wine and unlimited amounts of seafood. Don’t be discouraged if you are not a seafood fan. There will be “turf” options so that everyone can enjoy.

81st Annual Garden State Cat Show Expo

Cat lovers will love this event at the Raritan Center in Edison. You’ll be able to view different breeds of cats, adopt kittens and enter your furry friend in a beauty contest.

Food Truck and Fire Pits at Laurita Winery

Food and wine combined at this event on the grounds of the beautiful Laurita Winery in New Egypt. This location, voted as the best winery on our bucket list will have free vineyard tours and even a fireworks tour.

Holi and Summer Picnic 2017

All white is the attire for this Indian festival celebrating colors. Your family can bring your own water guns and water balloons to help wash off the color at the end of the festival. Light lunches will be available to curb that hunger from the fun. Afraid to get dirty? No worries. A color-free zone will be there for those who want to watch.

Grab a front row seat at Elektra Theatre in NYC all month long to the famous magical journey of a young wizard named Wayne, along with the Puffs, a group of loyal rejects. 

State Fair Meadowlands

Celebrate 95 years of the largest fair in New Jersey, complete with everything from donut burgers to classic carnival rides. Make sure to stop by on July 3-4 for a spectacular fireworks display! Through July 9. 

Leonia Sports Boosters Carnival

Featuring your favorite fair eats and rides for all ages. Head to Overpeck County Park before July 9. 

Ghost Walk

Take a spooky 45-minute walking tour of the Historic Cold Spring Village at the Cold Spring Brewery in Cape May. Learn the history and hope to see some ghosts. 

State Fair Meadowlands

From June 22-July 9, the largest fair in New Jersey will be celebrating its 95th year with a double-decker carousel, 100 pig races, classic carnival food and much more.

Glassboro Summer Fest

See live bands, sip local beers, check out food trucks and have fun every Thursday this month through July 20. 

Sunset Sips and Sounds at Terhune Orchards

Stop by Terhune Orchards every Friday night in June, July and August for its weekly Sips and Sounds music series, featuring live musical performances in the wine barn. Unwind and get together with friends while enjoying your choice of award-winning spirits grown right at Terhune Orchards.

Sunday Family Fun Nights

Every Sunday from July 2-August 27, enjoy a night filled with tug-of-war, hula hoops, Frisbee golf, long jump, hurdles and a huge, inflatable obstacle course to top off the event. Stop by anytime after 6:30 pm for a night of classic summer fun with the family!

101 Dalmatians 

This play is running the weekends of July 21-22 and 28-29 at the Summit Playhouse. A show especially for kids, this production features adorable stars, a scary villain and a wonderful score. Will the puppies escape Cruella as she tries to snag them for a fur coat?

Yoga in the Gardens 

Make your way to Rutgers in New Brunswick is sure to mellow you out all summer long. Carve out some me time by practicing yoga in a gorgeous outdoor setting. Take advantage of morning treats and beverages, too. Bring a friend and mat. 

Friday Night Unwined

Every Friday evening, Shady Brook Farm in PA is buzzing with live music from local bands, wine, beer and fun for the kids. While the adults enjoy wine and eat, the kids can play in go carts and play on the playground.
