Round up your budding golfers for a massive event on the green. The Northern Trust tournament event is bringing 125 top players to the course at The Ridgewood Country Club from August 21-26. It’s the first event of the FedExCup, a playoff series that determines the season champ on the PGA Tour. Competing in the cup is new Champion Golfer of the Year and Italy’s standout Francesco Molinari, runner-up Xander Schauffele, defending FedExCup champion Dustin Johnson, U.S. Open winner Brooks Koepka and many more.

Young fans will have a blast at the autograph zone, where they’ll get pin flags and other trinkets signed by the pros. There’ll be a specific area just for kids where the players will be sure to dedicate some time. They can also spy the practice range, and snag a seat in the bleachers by the first tee to watch the pros up close. And they can explore the PGA Tour Fan Shop, where you can buy keepsakes like giant golf balls and gear. The PGA recommends you bring your own Sharpies to get to signin’ ASAP.

While this event is a putter’s dream, there’s tons to do here for non golfers.  Kids 18 and under get in free with a ticketed adult. The best part? There's no limit to how many kids can come along so it's a real bargain for the whole fam. If your kid’s a gamer, be sure to stop by The First Tee Experience, a 3,500-square-foot venue boasting mini golf, a virtual reality gaming area, golf simulator and more. There’s also a golf-themed ballpit, and scaled mini versions of The First Tee’s signature programs. They can craft and go wild in the photo booth there, too, before walking alongside their fave golfers  for a few holes. Snap pics with the kids at the Northern Trust selfie wall, and drop by on August 21 from 2:30-4 pm to see Disney tween actress Skai Jackson, football legend Boomer Esiason and other surprise guests try their luck at the Show Us Your Swing at the First Tee Experience charity event.

As for what’ll fuel you through the day, look no further than the on-site diner featuring Garden State staples like Taylor ham sandwiches and the New Jersey Breakfast Bowl. For the kids, the homemade pop tarts will be a safe bet. Hit Garden State Marketplace for Sanducci’s Trattoria, a Bergen County spot that transformed menu faves just for this event (think Johnson’s Honey Bacon, Mickelson’s Margherita Pizza and Bubba’s Broccoli Rabe). If the minis want to cool off, surprise them with Dustin Johnson’s Caddy Shake from Shake Shack, a mint cookies and cream shake picked by the namesake himself. Other vendors include Fuku and Luke’s Lobster.

Want to scout out the course before the event? Sign up for the Fore! Miler Community Run and Walk 4-mile race on August 19 to check out RCC just two days before the Trust begins. Participating will score you a any-one-day grounds ticket to the tourney. All proceeds benefit Northern Trust official charities like Center for Food Action. Entry is $50 and gets you an official event shirt. Want to run but skip the tour? Run-only entry is $25.

Families can map out a fan journey before they go. Parking must be purchased in advance. RCC is located at 96 W. Midland Ave. in Paramus. For more information, visit pgatour.com for more information, or call 201-599-3900.
