Spruce Up Your Spring Wardrobe on a Budget

Published:

There’s nothing like shaking off the winter blues with a little retail therapy. Christie Maruka, a NJ-based stylist who helps dress celeb clients, shares her favorite spring finds under $50

One-Shoulder Dress

Giving the cold shoulder isn’t always a bad thing. Maruka suggests pairing a short dress like this with a pair of tailored jeans and heels. “A fun, flirty style is a quick and easy way to dress up your favorite jeans for a night out on the town,” she says.

Banker Stripes

“Stripes aren’t just for men’s dress shirts, and they never go out of style,” says Maruka. And don’t be afraid to stray from the beaten path. “You can wear stripes of different sizes and colors in the same outfit.”

Boho Chic

Who doesn’t love a breezy, comfy sandal? “Bohemian is my personal favorite [style],” says Maruka. “Whether it’s a sheer chiffon creation, or a pair of chic pom-pom sandals, you’ll want to grab a piece of it.”
Women’s Rio Leg Wrap Flat, Brash. $29.99, payless.com

Tailored Trench

Fact: a trench coat is a timeless wardrobe staple that adds instant sophistication to your look. Maruka suggests picking a style that flatters your height. Go with a below-the-knee trench if you’re taller.
