12 Days of Scrumptious Holiday Cookies: Day 6

Shin Newtons

Shin Newtons—Dreidel Cookies for Hanukkah

These Shin Newtons are a perfect cookie for celebrating Hanukkah. Made with three store-bought ingredients (fig newtons, pretzel sticks, and frosting) all you need to do is assemble and decorate your dreidel. A great project for kids, including in the classroom.

To make the dreidel cookies

Prep time: 5 mins, longer if you want to create elaborate designs

Ingredients

  • Fig Newtons
  • Thin pretzel sticks
  • Icing

Description

  1. Cut one side of the newton on either corner to create a V (the dreidel's point).
  2. On the opposite side, stick a pretzel stick into the middle of the newton (the dreidel handle).
  3. Use the icing to decorate! That's it!
