If your kid is having a tantrum, escaping to tech isn’t the answer, according to a new study in Pediatric Research. Parents were surveyed about tech use and rated their children’s behaviors. Results showed that when parents escape to a device, more problematic behaviors result.

This adds to parental stress, leading to more withdrawal to technology. It’s no surprise that research says kids are more likely to act out if parents repeatedly turn to tech instead of offering emotional support; all the more reason to power off those devices.
