Michael A. Malia, Esq., LL.M.

Specialty: Anti-Bullying Law

A seasoned trial attorney, Michael A. Malia has extensive experience with complex lawsuits and disputes. Representing families in bullying matters has been his most rewarding practice area; he’s a long-time volunteer attorney who handles bullying cases for the Volunteer Lawyers for Justice.

“I became involved to make a difference and to help families address this problem. Parents are frustrated because schools aren’t fulfilling their duty to protect their child—and they see how unhappy their child is,” he says. “I’m a good listener, which is a lost art. Listening to both the parent and child, and walking a day in their shoes, they can be confident that I believe in them, and I’m a more effective advocate. Gaining back their child’s self-confidence is my goal.”

Malia has three board certifications and a Master of Laws in trial advocacy.

"Michael has a very warm personality, and is [both] very understanding and incredibly smart." -L.S., North Caldwell
