North Jersey Orthopaedic Group

Ellen Dean-Davis, MD
Specialty: Orthopedic Surgeon

As a former professional soccer player, Dr. Ellen Dean-Davis can relate to the demands placed on young athletes today and is passionate about getting them back to their favorite sport as quickly and safely as possible.

“I treat every child as if they were one of my own, and I think of my patients as my extended family members,” says the mother of two.

A four-year Division I Academic All-American soccer player at the University of Tennessee, she became a patient herself after suffering an on-field tibia/fibula fracture that required surgery. Dr. Dean-Davis was successfully rehabilitated and went on to play professional soccer with the Women’s United Soccer Association.

Compassionate Care in a Comfortable Environment

Today, Dr. Dean-Davis practices in an inviting office that provides care for strains and fractures as well as treatment for more serious injuries, genetic conditions and congenital anomalies. She specializes in the treatment of hip disorders, pediatric trauma, clubfoot and cerebral palsy and is committed to taking the minimally invasive approach whenever possible.

“Families love that we’ve created such a comfortable office environment—parents often tell me their kids are excited to come see us and play in the waiting room. It makes for a more pleasant experience for both children and parents,” she says.

Making a Difference

Dr. Dean-Davis earned her MD at St. George’s University School of Medicine, where she was valedictorian. She completed her orthopedic training at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center and a specialized fellowship in pediatric and adolescent orthopedic surgery at the Alfred I. DuPont Children’s Hospital. After receiving the highest level of training under world leaders in pediatric orthopedics, she returned to northern New Jersey, where she is now active in both the clinical and academic settings.

“It’s very rewarding to make a long-term positive impact in a child’s life,” she says.

"Last year was an exceptionally difficult year for my six-year-old son with three repeated fractures in his arms. Dr. Ellen Dean-Davis from the North Jersey Orthopedic Group was a God-sent angel! Her professionalism and personalism made a very difficult time a lot easier for all of us! My son, who still insists on sitting in my lap for haircuts and dental cleanings, has put his guard down and befriended Dr. Dean. Words cannot express our gratitude!" -Bilal, Fort Lee

"I love Dr. Davis' attention to care, her personalized approach to my daughter and our individual needs and the understanding of her condition and knowledge of the topic." -Gina, Rutherford

"From our first meeting, Dr Dean Davis made us feel comfortable and cared for. She always takes the time to sit with us and explain how the process and progress of my daughters condition is developing. We feel her personalized approach to service is unlike any other we receive!" -Michael, Rutherford
